While the Halloween candy is still being finished up in some households, and Thanksgiving is still two weeks away, the signs of Christmas are already starting to appear in Clayton County.
Lake City recently became one of the first citys in the county to set up its Christmas display for this year. The display is on the lawn of the Lake City Municipal Hall, located at 5455 Jonesboro Road.
The city is slated to hold a Holiday Kick-Off and Tree Lighting Celebration to formally light up the display, on Nov. 19, at 6 p.m., at the municipal hall. The decorations include a giant, 58-foot-tall Christmas tree, with lots of big, yellow bows, and little, red balls all over it.
It also includes smaller light displays, featuring reindeer, elves, small Christmas trees, a toy-filled sleigh, and holiday greetings.
Call (404) 366-8080, for more information about the celebration.
