Dawn Strickland Clark passed away Nov. 9, 2011 at the Shepherd Center, surrounded by her family. Dawn was born in Athens, on Oct. 27, 1961. She graduated from North Clayton High School in Riverdale, in 1979. She attended Clayton State University.
Dawn was a devoted Delta Air Lines employee for more than 29 years, in the Human Resources area, and was beloved by all. She was a member of Henry Baptist Church, in McDonough. Dawn was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ruth and Luther Bond, of Athens, and paternal grandparents, Jesse and Maude Strickland, also of Athens. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Jack Clark, of Stockbridge; stepson, Vernon Clark, of Tulsa, Okla.; and two granddaughters, Madison and Kinslee Clark, of Scottsboro, Ala. She is also survived by her parents, Paul and Patricia Strickland, of Fayetteville, Ga.; a sister, Debra Strickland, of Madison, Wis.; two brothers, Derek Strickland and Jason Strickland, both of McDonough, Ga.; three nephews, J.R. Mundy, of Conyers, Josh Barham, of McDonough, and Bryson Strickland, of McDonough. She had many devoted friends and family members, and will be greatly missed by all. A visitation service was held Friday evening, Nov. 11, from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m., at Haisten Funeral Home, in McDonough, and a memorial service will be held TODAY (Saturday, Nov. 12), at 11 a.m., at Henry Baptist Church, in McDonough. The family invites all of Dawn's friends to come and celebrate her life with them, and requests that instead of flowers, a donation be made in her name to the Shepherd Center, 2020 Peachtree Road N.W., Atlanta, Ga., 30309, or online at www.shepherd.org.
