CSU to host class on starting new businesses

Local residents, who are looking to start their own businesses, soon will have an opportunity to learn how to plan –– and get a handle on –– the process.

Clayton State University officials announced Monday that the school’s Small Business Development Center will host a class on new-business planning, entitled “Starting a Business,” later this week.

The class is scheduled to be held on Thursday, from 5 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the Fayette Chamber of Commerce, located at 200 Courthouse Square, in Fayetteville.

Registration for the class is $69, per person, although two people who sign up together can get the second person registered at half of the full price, according to a university news release.

Clayton State students, faculty and staff members also can register for the class for half of the full price. PowerPoint handouts and a textbook are included in the registration costs, according to the university.

People interested in participating in the class can register online at www.georgiasbdc.org, by clicking on the “Register” tab, and choosing classes offered at the Small Business Development Center’s Morrow office.
