The red carpet is being rolled out for some local celebrities during a fund-raiser for Haven House.
Haven House's Hollywood Nights event is scheduled for Saturday, from 7 p.m., to 11 p.m. It will be held at the Locust Grove Event Center, located at 280 Mose Brown Drive, and feature patrons dressed as their favorite movie stars, or characters, making a grand entrance on a red carpet, with photographs made alongside Marilyn Monroe and James Dean impersonators. The gala event will feature music by the Mackie Creek Band. Other activities include a silent auction, a photo booth, and a martini bar. "I would like to thank our dedicated board members and the community members who generously gave their support to make this year's Hollywood Nights fund-raiser possible," said Marjorie Lacy, executive director of Haven House. "All proceeds will go to help women and children of the community, who are victims of domestic abuse, find relief at Haven House," she said. Family Medical Clinic is one of this year's sponsors. "We believe in helping the community, and applaud the Haven House for their efforts to restore safety to the women and children who are victims of domestic abuse," said Lori Imes, practice director at Family Medical Clinic. Tickets to the event are available, and can be purchased at sponsorship levels ranging from $60, for an individual ticket, to $1,000 for a table-level ticket.
