Mike Mead, the head coach for Clayton State Universitys cross country and track and field teams, is encouraging the community to support the teams Ninth Annual Car Wash Fund-raiser.
The event is set for Friday, Oct. 14, at Rockys Cafe and Pizza, located at 2262 Lake Harbin Road, in Morrow. Mead said that, in the past, the car wash was traditionally held on a Saturday. But, this year, the team wanted to try something different, and moved the event to Friday. Another reason for the change, he said, was to give faculty members the opportunity to help support the team. Many of the faculty members live far from the university, and may not feel like driving back on a Saturday, Mead said, so we thought, by moving the day, it would make it easier for them. In the effort to raise money, Mead said, team members will be selling coupon booklets for $10, that will contain three free car washes, and special meal deals at Rockys restaurant. The coupons will be valid, from Oct. 14 through Nov. 11, he said. Mead added that anyone, who is interested in supporting the cross country and track teams, can contact him, at (678) 466-4679, or via e-mail at: mikemead@clayton.edu.More like this story
