James “Jim” William Nixon, 76, of Riverdale, Ga., entered into rest on Wednesday Oct. 5, 2011. He was the son of the late Osbey Eldridge Nixon and Rosa Nixon. Mr. Nixon was preceded in death by his brother, Morelan Nixon, and sisters, Essie McKenny, and Lorell Rogers.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Naomi Nixon; children, Pamela Faye Gross, and Myra Annette Vandeear; grandchildren, Brian Christopher Vandeear, and Christopher Todd Gross; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Oct. 9, from 1:30 p.m., to 2:30 p.m., at Tara Garden Chapel 681 North Ave. Jonesboro, Ga. 30236. Services honoring Mr. Nixon will be on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 2:30 p.m., in the chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Bob Skipper and Reverend James Barnes officiating.
