Jonesboro 34, Mundy's 6
Mundy's Mill had hopes of handing Jonesboro is first loss of the season to ruin the Cardinals homecoming celebration.
With six minutes remaining in the first quarter, Mundy's Mill found itself tied with the unbeaten Cardinals at Tara Stadium Friday night.
However, Jonesboro would recover to score 28 unanswered points for a 34-6 win to setup a showdown with No. 9 Lovejoy.
Jonesboro junior Cameron Sutton scored two touchdowns in the win.
Union Grove 28, Dutchtown 6
Dutchtown and Union Grove played a statement game on Friday night in a crucial Region 3-AAAA Div. A contest.
Although Union Grove's 28-8 win over the host Bulldogs revived their playoff hopes, Dutchtown is far from out of the playoff picture.
Led by a rushing attack of running back Derrick Craine and Jonathan Selfe, the Wolverines collected over 200 yards rushing. Craine had several spectacular runs, breaking tackles and carrying defenders on his back.
Selfe's yardage came on quarterback keepers after faking the ball to Craine.
