The Wildcats (6-0, 6-0 in Region 4-AAAA) took control early, scoring on a 10-play drive on their first possession, capped by a 2-yard touchdown run by Custis. Lovejoy never looked back, setting up a compelling matchup of unbeatens next week against Jonesboro.

Custis also scored on runs of 5 and 19 yards, while JuMichael Ramos caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Alejandro Bennifield.

Lovejoy continued its dominating special teams play, blocking two punts, including one that Brandon Rush returned 5 yards for a touchdown. Jermaine Hough returned an interception for a 35-yard touchdown, while Eugene Fuller had a 45-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Mt. Zion fell to 2-4 overall and in Region 4-AAAA.

Ray Tookes and Dee Curtis provided all the scoring Woodland needed in a 14-6 victory at Ola in a Region 3-AAAA Div. A game Friday.

Tookes rushed for a touchdown, while Curtis returned an interception for a touchdown to help the Wolfpack (2-4, 1-2 in Region 3-AAAA Div. A) break a four-game losing streak.

Malcolm Miller led Woodland with 124 yards rushing on 26 carries. Taylor Poff completed 12 of 24 passes for 131 yards, and Ricky Murphy caught six passes for 68 yards.

Ola dropped to 1-6 overall, and 0-4 in the region.

M.L. King 49, Luella 42

M.L. King scored with six minutes left in the game for a 49-42 victory at Luella in a Region 2-AAAAA game Friday.

Luella (3-3, 0-3 in Region 2-AAAAA) scored in a variety of ways, getting two touchdown catches by Reese McDaniel, a 70-yard interception return by Alvin Hill, a 95-yard fumble recovery by Steve Osondu and an 80-yard kickoff return by Trae Bonner.

Gabe Smith added a 2-yard touchdown run.

But that wasn't enough to prevent Luella from its third-straight loss to a ranked opponent.

Jonesboro 34, Mundy's 6

Mundy's Mill had hopes of handing Jonesboro is first loss of the season to ruin the Cardinals homecoming celebration.

With six minutes remaining in the first quarter, Mundy's Mill found itself tied with the unbeaten Cardinals at Tara Stadium Friday night.

However, Jonesboro would recover to score 28 unanswered points for a 34-6 win to setup a showdown with No. 9 Lovejoy.

Jonesboro junior Cameron Sutton scored two touchdowns in the win.

Union Grove 28, Dutchtown 6

Dutchtown and Union Grove played a statement game on Friday night in a crucial Region 3-AAAA Div. A contest.

Although Union Grove's 28-8 win over the host Bulldogs revived their playoff hopes, Dutchtown is far from out of the playoff picture.

Led by a rushing attack of running back Derrick Craine and Jonathan Selfe, the Wolverines collected over 200 yards rushing. Craine had several spectacular runs, breaking tackles and carrying defenders on his back.

Selfe's yardage came on quarterback keepers after faking the ball to Craine.
