A Rex man has been charged in the stabbing death of an acquaintance visiting from Augusta, said Clayton County police.
Lt. Tina Daniel said Gary Bussey, 61, of Augusta, was found stabbed multiple times Monday at about 2:10 p.m., inside a house on Homestead Road, in Rex.
Bussey was visiting the resident there, she said.
The resident's son, Chinua Anozienyako Plez, 19, was arrested Tuesday morning in Broward County, Fla., said Daniel. Clayton County Magistrate Court records show that Plez has been charged with murder, aggravated assault, and motor vehicle theft.
Daniel said Plez is expected to be extradited back to Clayton County.
Clayton County State Court records show that Plez was charged with simple battery in September 2010. Plez pleaded not guilty in November, and the charge was dropped in January.
