Crisp, cool air met the warmth of the sun shining down on children, as they frolicked about a playground.
The youngsters at Jodeco Academy, in McDonough, took full advantage of what easily could be one of the few remaining days of unseasonably warm fall weather, perfect for outdoor adventures in the Southern Crescent area of metro Atlanta.
The childcare center wrapped up the month of October by hosting its annual fall festival, Friday, as many other area schools, churches, and businesses are doing the same.
The festival included pony rides and a petting zoo by Little Vine Petting Zoo of Temple, Ga.; an inflatable jumping set from Astro Events in Stockbridge; moonwalks, games, and candy treats for the children.
Jodeco Academy, which serves 256 children between the ages of six weeks and 12 years, has operated in the community for the past 15 years, said Director Sophia Townsend, who has been at the academy for 14 years.
“We care for and love our children, and we’re always open to the community,” said Townsend, noting that parents and community members helped sponsor the annual festival. “We also appreciate our parents for their support.”
