Friday nights 20-0 loss to Mundys Mill left the Morrow Mustangs winless in three games thus far this season.
To add insult to injury, the Mustangs have been outscored 129-0 during those losses. The offense will work only when we do the little things right, Morrow offensive coordinator Mac McKissic said. Our system relies on rhythm and quarterback play, both have to be in sync in order for us to be successful. Mundys Mill offense was successful the majority of the first half. After failing to score on its opening possession, Mundy's Mill found the end zone on three of its next four possessions thanks to three touchdowns by halfback Toren Coombs. The Tigers didnt score again, but didnt have to due to a staunch defense that only allowed the Mustangs one possession in their territory the entire night. That drive, two long pass plays from Morrow quarterback Shammua Harold to wide receivers Sterling Taylor and James McDonald ended on downs for the struggle Mustangs offense. The improved Mundys Mill to 1-2 overall and in Region 4-AAAA. Mundys Mill Head coach Peniel Dany is hoping this win will jumpstart his team. Im not sure if we got the monkey off our back, but it is a step in the right direction," he said.More like this story
