Paul Olen Ward, Sr., 69, of McDonough, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011. He was born in Blueridge, Ga., to the late Charlie and Eva Mae Pierce Ward. He was also preceded in death by his faithful companion, Molly.

After high school, he joined the Air Force. Paul worked for the Ford Motor Assembly Plant in Hapeville for 33 years. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden, and going to school sporting events with his grandchildren. When he was able, he would go bowling. His main entertainment was going to Southern Gospel music concerts, and camping.

Mr. Ward is survived by his wife of 47 years, June Marie (Schuldt) Ward, of McDonough; son, Paul Ward, Jr., of Winston, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Marybeth (Reavy) Ward Reavis, of McDonough; daughter, Becky Ward, of McDonough; grandchildren, Nicholas, Christina and Wesley Reavis, of McDonough; Brandon and Autumn Ward, of Stockbridge; brother, Lynn Ward, of Blueridge; sister, Barbara Sue Teal, of Dalton; and daughter-in-law, Sarah Ward, of Stockbridge.

Funeral Services will be held at 11a.m., on Monday, Sept.12, at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with the Rev. Jeff Clark and the Rev. David Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 11, from 4 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
