Atlanta Southside SDA Church, 9940 Dixon Industrial Blvd., Jonesboro, is hosting a series of evangelistic meetings through Sept. 17, from 7:30 p.m., to 9 p.m.

Sept. 17

Dixon Grove Baptist Church, 7690 Fielder Road, Jonesboro, will be giving away boxes of food Sept. 17, from 9 a.m., to noon, in the church parking lot. There is a limit of one food box per family, and a photo identification card must be presented.

The Forest Park Ministers Association Inc., along with the businesses of Forest Park, is sponsoring this year’s annual day of prayer Sept. 17. The day will begin in Starr Park at noon and end around 5 p.m. Sponsoring businesses and organizations can set up a table or display. Proceeds from sponsorship fees will go to support the Day of Prayer, Annual Christmas baskets for the Forest Park police and fire departments, Keep Forest Park Beautiful, and for Forest Park schools and teachers, to provide educational assistance and supplies. Fellowship Baptist Church, 157 Rountree Road, Riverdale, presents the Chuck Wagon Gang in concert Friday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. Chuck Wagon Gang is one of the oldest names in gospel music, starting in Fort Worth during the Great Depression.
