It might not have been for a state championship, but Lovejoy will always look back fondly on their first game in the Georgia Dome.
With junior running back Travis Custis leading an offensive attack, the Wildcats defeated winless Morrow 71-0 Friday in a Region 4-AAAA contest played as part of the Great American Football Classic. Tremaine Dillard also had a touchdown run. Arshad Jackson and JuMichael Ramos each had touchdown receptions while Mike Jones and Kris Christian each returned fumbles for scores. Lovejoy, which improved to 3-0 overall and in the region, led 35-0 after the first quarter and increased its lead to 64-0 at the intermission. Demarquis Gates scored on an 85-yard interception on the last play of the first half. Morrow (0-4, 0-4) has yet to score a point this season in losses to Creekside, Riverdale and Mundys Mill.More like this story
