Clifford Hastings Funderburk
Clifford Hastings Funderburk, 82, of Jonesboro, died Thursday afternoon at his residence, Sept. 22, 2011. He was born in Butts County April 7, 1929, son of the late John Carl Funderburk and Emma Alice Johnson Funderburk. He was the husband of Sarah McGee Funderburk, who still survives. Mr. Funderburk was a machinist and owner of Jonesboro Tool and Die. He was in the U. S. Army serving in Korea. He graduated from Jackson High School, Middle Georgia College and Georgia Tech. He raised five foster children.
Survivors include his wife, Sara McGee; sister, Becky (Conner) Dodson; brother, Johnson (Fee) Funderburk, of Charleston, S.C.; nieces and nephews, John (Missy) Funderburk, of Albany, Ga., Amy (Brantley) Henderson, of Tallahassee, Fla., Patty Dodson, of Roswell, Ga., Alice Dodson, of Flovilla, Ga., Jeannine (Scott) Motsinger, of Rock Hill, S.C., Tracy (David) Gregory, of Raleigh, N.C.; several great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with the Rev. Glen Vogel, the Rev. Danny L. Henderson and the Rev. Barrett R. Williams, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Flovilla City Cemetery.
