Henry County senior Dalvin Tomlinson is all smiles as his aunt, Mary Tomlinson, signs his letter-of-intent after the defensive revealed that was going to play for national championship Alabama.
Henry County senior and Alabama football signee Dalvin Tomlinson will require surgery after sustaining a significant knee injury while playing on the high school soccer team.
Tomlinson confirmed the news to the Clayton News Daily and Henry Daily Herald by phone Monday evening. He said he expects to make a full recovery by the start of the college football season.
“I’ll be over it by the time the season comes around,” Tomlinson said. “It was pretty shocking.”
The top football recruit from the Southern Crescent last season, the 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive lineman was a surprise last-minute grab for Alabama on National Signing Day. Tomlinson chose Alabama over Georgia and Georgia Tech. Rivals.com rated him a four-star recruit and the No. 11-ranked prospect in Georgia.
Tomlinson also won three wrestling state titles at heavyweight, a first in state history.
