The City of Riverdale will host its annual “Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza” this weekend.
The event is set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Amphitheater in front of Riverdale City Hall, located at 7210 Church Street. The event is free to the public.
“Families can enjoy a great event with games, story-telling, and of course an Easter egg hunt for the children,” said Riverdale Mayor Evelyn Wynn-Dixon. “This is a great opportunity for everyone to come out and enjoy another family-friendly event on a beautiful spring day.”
More than 5,000 eggs filled with treats will be hidden throughout the park on Saturday. In addition, there will be five golden eggs that can be redeemed for “very special prizes,” said Wynn-Dixon.
“There will be two separate designated areas for the hunt, with one area for the younger children and one area for the older children,” said Wynn-Dixon. The egg hunt is for youth 12 years old and under, and children are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
In addition to the egg hunt, Wynn-Dixon said the event will include bounce houses, face-painting, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny. Children also will be able to have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny.
“Come out to enjoy a fun-filled day with your mayor and the Easter Bunny,” said Wynn-Dixon. For more information about this weekend event, visit www.riverdalega.gov, or call (770) 909-5300.
