Funeral Services for Mrs. Bertha Cook Johnson, 93, of Georgia Avenue, North Augusta, S.C., who entered into rest April 3, 2012, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Irvin Pearre officiating. Interment in Graniteville Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Graniteville, a former resident of Jonesboro, Georgia, having made North Augusta her home for the past seven years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Graniteville and the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, where she served as the Director of the Women’s Missionary Union. Mrs. Johnson had a passion for children and began teaching Sunday School at the age of 16. She was the wife of the late Mr. Clarence O. Johnson, Sr.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda L. Johnson, North Augusta; two sons and their wives, Clarence and Laura Johnson, Jr., Fayetteville, and Sidney and Pamela Johnson, McDonough; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
