Easter Week schedule
Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 377 Valley Hill Road SW, Riverdale, has scheduled the following worship services and activities this week: Good Friday, April 6, there will be a worship service at 7:30 p.m. Easter Sunday, April 8, there will be Sunday school and Bible classes at 9:30 a.m., a combined English and Laotian worship service with Holy Communion celebrating Christ's Resurrection at 11a.m. A pot luck dinner and a children's egg hunt will follow at about 12:45 p.m. The Lao New Year will also be celebrated. First Baptist Church, 1647 Lake Harbin Road, in Morrow, invites local children, ages 6 months through sixth grade, to participate in an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 7, at 11 a.m. The hunt will be followed by crafts, a storytime, and lunch. The St. Martin de Porres Society, of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, 591 Flint River Road, Jonesboro, will host “A Baby Changes Everything” prayer breakfast on Saturday, April 21, at 10 a.m. Guest speakers will be Noreen Coughlin, of Advice and Aid Pregnancy Center, and Mary Ann McNeil, of Post Abortion Treatment and Healing. The Clayton County National Day of Prayer observance is Thursday, May 3. The Annual Community Prayer Breakfast Program, hosted by the Clayton County Ministers’ Conference, will be held at the National Archives-Atlanta Southeast Region, located at 5780 Jonesboro Road in Morrow. The program is slated to begin at 6:30 a.m. The keynote speaker is Clayton County Board of Health Director, Dr. Alpha Fowler-Bryan. Morrow Presbyterian Church’s Young-At-Heart senior group invites the public to join a motorcoach tour of Niagara Falls, departing May 20, and returning May 26.
