A 21-year-old man is dead, and Clayton County Police are investigating to find out why, after a shooting that occurred Sunday night outside a party at a Conley home.
Police spokesman, Officer Gary Syblis, said a group of unidentified males were shooting guns at the corner of Elizabeth Park Circle and John Arnold Circle, which was down the street from where the party was taking place.
He added that the victim — whom he identified as John Goodrum — was struck by bullets from those guns while he stood outside the home where the party took place, at 4120 John Arnold Circle in Conley.
Syblis said it is unclear if there was an altercation between Goodrum and the males who were firing the guns. He said a police investigation is continuing into the shooting, and no arrests have been made. Police do not have suspects at the moment, he said, and an incident report had not been completed as of late Monday.
Anyone who has information about the shooting is asked to call Clayton County Police at (770) 477-3550, or (770) 477-3604.
