The Mega Millions lottery fairy did not wave a magic wand in Henry County during the most recent jackpot drawing, but the Henry County Chamber of Commerce’s “Great $10,000 Giveaway” is offering another chance to win big.
The purchase of a $125 ticket entitles the owner and a guest to dinner and drinks, and a chance to win $10,000, in a reverse raffle.
The Great $10,000 Giveaway reverse raffle means the last raffle ticket drawn, rather than the first, will be the grand-prize winner.
In an effort to attract patrons, there will be cash prizes for every first, and 50th ticket drawn.
Last year’s winner, Jeff Cooper, will serve as this year’s emcee.
“I hope that I can make it fun for everyone,” said Cooper. “I certainly won’t be as nervous this time as it gets down to the last few tickets!”
Cooper split his proceeds with a co-worker.
The “Great $10,000 Giveaway” will be held on May 3, at the Merle Manders Conference Center and will be catered by The Original Shane’s Rib Shack with locally-brewed JailHouse Brewing Company beer available. Tickets can be purchased either online at http://tinyurl.com/10KGiveawayTickets, or from Chamber Board Members, or at the Chamber, 1709 Highway 20 West, McDonough, Ga. 30253.
