A Clayton County Police officer was taken to the hospital Monday after being hit by a car while on duty.
Police said an officer — whose name was not released — and who is a part of the motorcycle unit, was hit from behind by a car in the morning, at Fayetteville Road and Smith Street, in Jonesboro.
The officer was treated at Southern Regional Medical Center, in Riverdale, for non-life-threatening injuries and was released.
Investigators declined to give more details on the officer’s injuries, but said he was OK. Police officers said the other driver involved in the crash was not injured, and there were no arrests made.
The Georgia State Patrol is handling the investigation.
