A 20-year-old Riverdale man who was arrested for making a bomb threat to Riverdale Middle School last week, has been sentenced to five years intensive probation.

On Friday, April, 20, in the late evening, investigators from the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, Special Investigations Section, arrested Duntavious Roberts for calling in a bomb threat earlier the same day.

Deputies and school personnel said the school was searched thoroughly and no signs of a bomb were found. The school then resumed normal operations.

Clayton County Sheriff's Lt. Brian Crisp said deputies were following up on a lead in the area of the Harmony Ridge Apartments located at 235 Roberts Drive, Riverdale. Crisp said Roberts was found in the breezeway of building 3, near his aunt’s apartment.

Crisp said that during the interview with investigators Roberts confessed and wrote a letter of apology for his actions.

Roberts also told deputies he was on probation for terroristic threats for crimes committed in Albany, Crisp said.
