Mrs. Edythe Brooks McClung, 93, of McDonough, passed away April 26, 2012. Mrs. McClung was born in Washington, the daughter of the late Henry Clay and Mary Chaffin Brooks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas McClung, and several siblings.
She worked for Christian Pharmacy in sales most of her working career, and volunteered at Hendrix Drive Elementary School. She was awarded the county’s Golden Apple Outstanding Volunteer Award.
She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, and served her country in the United States Navy. Mrs. McClung enjoyed working in her flower garden when she was able.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Charlie Brannon, of McDonough; and grandson, J.T. Brannon, also of McDonough.
A graveside service for Mrs. McClung will be held Monday, April 30, at 11 a.m., in the Forest Hills Memorial Park, in Forest Park, with the Rev. Alvie Rodgers officiating. Haisten Funeral Home – McDonough, (770) 914-8833, haistenfunerals.com.
