JONESBORO — Congressman David Scott’s (D-Ga.) eighth annual 13th Congressional District Health Fair will take place Saturday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m., until 2 p.m., at Mundy’s Mill High School, 9652 Fayetteville Road, in Jonesboro.
The fair will feature several free screenings for a number of diseases including prostate car, breast cancer, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, depression and sickle cell. Blood pressure, cholesterol, vision, hearing and dental screenings will also be available.
Free discount prescription drug cards will also be distributed at the event, according to Scott’s office.
The congressman’s office announced participating businesses and groups will include AID Atlanta, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures, Eye Specialists of Georgia, Fulton County Department of Health Services, Grady Health System, GNLD Wellness, Great Expressions Dental, Kroger Pharmacy, Sisters by Choice and Walgreens Pharmacy.
