RIVERDALE — City officials this week shared a status update on construction of Riverdale Regional Park, which they said is nearly complete. They said on their website they plan to finish construction by Aug. 24, with a jamboree scheduled to take place at the park on that day.
The park’s concession stand has been “dried in” and cabinets have been installed. Roof installation is “nearly complete” and workers are doing electrical work in the building.
Bleachers are also “nearly complete” at the football field. Sod, field lighting and goal posts have already been installed at the field.
Lights have been installed at the baseball field and backstops, fences, outfield sod and infield clay are expected to be installed within the next two weeks.
A walking trail is scheduled to be completed by Aug. 18. Work is being done right now to make portions of the trail compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
