Forums will be held at all Clayton County high schools next Tuesday to discuss the shortened Wednesday school day, known as “minimum day scheduling.” All forums are scheduled for 6 p.m.

The 90-minute forums will address concerns and clarify the details of the new schedule. There also will be a chance for parents to express their concerns and ask questions. Parents of high school students are asked to attend the forum at their child’s school. Parents of middle and elementary school students should attend the forum at the high school into which their current school feeds.

The Minimum Day Schedule would dismiss students early each Wednesday afternoon for the 2012-13 school year. Elementary schools would dismiss students an hour early, middle schools 75 minutes early and high schools an hour and a half early. Teachers would work a full day and would use that time for professional learning, meetings, conferences and training.
