MORROW — Clayton State University President Tim Hynes gave incoming freshmen what he said were “nine hints” for academic success at Friday’s new student convocation at Spivey Hall.
Hynes advised students to stay in touch with professors, stay organized, stay on campus and manage time and money wisely, among other things.
He also advised the new students — repeatedly — to study, study, study.
This was the seventh year Clayton State has greeted its new freshman with a convocation. The event was attended by faculty dressed in full cap-and-gown regalia, who greeted the roughly 350 students.
After the ceremony a brunch reception was held at James M. Baker University Center, with a community service event, “A Party for Good,” held in the student activities ballroom immediately thereafter.

The student has only one "job", to study. I don't understand why it is so hard to accomplish this goal. He always has to remember that good grades are valuable assets to his future career. If he writes on his online profile his grades, maybe he will receive a scholarship or an internship. I believe it's a great opportunity.
