Edna Earl Evans Howell, loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother, 92, entered her heavenly home on Aug. 9, 2012. Mrs. Howell, born in Newberry County, S.C., and long time resident of Lake City, Ga., had resided in Jonesboro for the last six years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Cecil L. Howell; daughter, Diane Howell; and grandson, Cecil A. Carter.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannie and Chuck Holton of McDonough, and Cynthia Dee and Bryan King, of Locust Grove; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was a beloved wife, mother, nana, homemaker, prolific writer of poems and short stories, talented singer, incredible cook, and known for her sense of humor and sharp wit. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
