JONESBORO An East Point-based firm which has given thousands of dollars to Clayton County commission Chairman Eldrin Bell’s reelection campaign could get its second consulting contract in as many months this week.
The agenda for Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners meeting shows county leaders will vote on a 12-month, $33,125 consulting contract for the Collaborative Firm, LLC. The proposed contract shows the firm would evaluate housing, real estate market and occupancy data for the county’s HUD program.
The commission voted last month to give a two-year, $241,000 consulting contract to the Collaborative Firm for the company to provide community development assistance to the county.
A recent Clayton News Daily report on campaign contributions for commission candidates revealed Bell’s reelection campaign has received a total of $2,000 in financial donations from the firm over the last year. The most recent contribution, a $500 donation, came in February.
Bell is facing former Clayton County police Chief Jeff Turner in a run-off election Tuesday to decide who will occupy the chairman’s office for the next four years.
