JONESBORO — Are Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan coming to Clayton County?
The Clayton News Daily has learned a movie set to be filmed soon at an old grocery store in the county may be the latest installment of the satirical “Scary Movie” franchise.
Clayton County officials and representatives of Albany, N.Y.-based film production company Project 2012 Films Inc. signed a leasing agreement Tuesday to use the old Ingles building on Jonesboro Road in Lake City. The building, which belongs to the county, will be used this fall as a temporary, closed set soundstage to film a movie.
Workers were seen moving wood frames for sets into the building on Tuesday.
County officials refuse to say which movie will be shot at the old grocery store. However, an Internet search for the production company’s name may have given away the secret. Many of the results were postings of an Aug. 5 online casting call which showed the production company was looking at the time for an Atlanta-based African-American female between 18 and 30 with a “huge butt.”
The movie is “Scary Movie 5,” according to the casting call notice.
The film — which will likely follow the “Scary Movie” formula of spoofing horror films — garnered media attention last week when reports surfaced that Sheen and Lohan would have cameos as celebrity victims.
The Internet Movie Database website shows the film’s cast also includes Ashley Tisdale and Regina Hall.
The film’s plot is described on the website as “Three Dancers — one veteran performer and two upstarts who are also best friends — vie for the lead in a new production from a snooty, aloof, imperious and oversexed director.”
The film is scheduled to be released on April 19, 2013, according to the Internet Movie Database.
