JONESBORO Clayton County Parks and Recreation officials will close out the summer at International Park’s “The Beach” this weekend by saying “thank you” to their visitors.
“The Beach” will close for the year on Labor Day. On Saturday, the county’s recreation department will host Customer Appreciation Day at the park as a way of “giving back” to the community, said International Park Deputy Administrator Troy Stubbs.
“They’ve come out and played in the pool and enjoyed the beach all summer, so we wanted to end the season with a big celebration to thank them for coming out this year,” said Stubbs.
The park will be open on Customer Appreciation Day from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Stubbs said beach patrons will be admitted for $5, instead of the usual $10 admission price they pay to enter the facility. He also said DJ Superman will be spinning tunes throughout the day and the recreation department will cap off the night with a fireworks show at 7 p.m.
