Thacher Emory of Jonesboro, Modern Woodmen of America regional director for Atlanta, recently attended the organization’s Leadership Career Institute in Rock Island, Ill. Modern Woodmen’s top managers attend to learn how to become better leaders, improve results in their region and inspire their colleagues. Founded in 1883, Modern Woodmen is a fraternal financial services organization.

Miranda Austin of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits will explain fundraising at the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Business to Business luncheon, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. The talk will be at Higher Living Community Impact Center, 2450 Mt. Zion Parkway, Jonesboro. Admission is $15 for chamber members and guests, $25 for non-members. For more information, call (678) 610-4021.
Thursday, Oct. 18
Clayton County’s Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its seventh annual business and community expo at First Baptist Church Jonesboro’s recreation outreach center from 3:30 until 7:30 p.m. The event is an opportunity for businesses to exhibit their products and for business people to network with the public and their peers. The event is also family friendly and includes special entertainment for children.
