Mr. Charles Bolton White, 85, of McDonough, passed away Aug. 30, 3012. Mr. White was born in Jackson County, the son of the late William Cleveland and Montine Sellers White.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 aboard the USS Santa Fe, receiving the American Theatre Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with nine stars and Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two stars and a WWII Victory Medal. He worked for American Seal and Stamp Company for 44 years and had recently retired from the Clayton County Sheriff’s Department.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Shattles White. Survivors are his children, Charles T. “CT” White, of Union City, and Deborah White Youngblood Waits, of McDonough; grandchildren, Adam and Laura Youngblood, of Norcross, Kenny and Renee Youngblood, of Moreland, and Dorothy “Dodie” White, of Lucedale, Miss.; great-granddaughters, Lara, Ryan, and Kate Gunter, of Lucedale; great grandsons, Brandon Cochran, of Lucedale and Jackson and Gavin Youngblood of Moreland, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service for Mr. White will be Aug. 31, 1 p.m., at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Atlanta with Rev. Wade Hall and Rev. Bill Shattles officiating. Haisten Funeral Home, McDonough. 770-914-8833, haistenfunerals.
