Jonesboro resident Elizabeth Holcomb, 83, said her balloon ride was a “once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Jonesboro resident Elizabeth Holcomb, 83, had her dream come true last Saturday. Holcomb was able to experience her dream of riding in a hot-air balloon with the assistance of her family, staff at Elmcroft of Mt. Zion assisted living community, Second Wind Dreams and Dave Sullivan of Balloonacy Ltd. School of Applied Aerostation.
Holcomb, who lives at Elmcroft, spent over 30 minutes smiling and waving to all below, as the balloon traveled along its course. She said it was a “once-in-a-lifetime experience.” She has lived for over 40 years in Clayton County, where she and her late husband raised their three daughters. They both retired from the county’s school system.

...I never go up, without having a camera with me. Memories is not enough, and mere words cannot describe the scenes from the air.

.....I didn't have the use of my Dad's plane, so, I rented a small helicopter on the strip. The pilot kept screaming at me to stay in my seat. In order to shoot the photos, I had to lean sideways, and placed my feet on the rails of the copter. I know that the strip has changed, since this photo was taken. This photo is only one part of the strip.
