Morrow Police Detective Paul Wages said Revell Edwards was apprehended Friday around 11:45 a.m, in Henry County by U. S. Marshals and Henry County police officers.

Wages is the lead investigator for the Morrow police into the investigation of the Wells Fargo Bank robbery.

The investigator said Edwards was taken into police custody between 10:30 a.m., and 11a.m., by U.S Marshals and Henry County police.

“He was injured fleeing from the marshals, he ran into one of the officers pickup truck,” Wages said.

Edwards was treated and released from Piedmont Henry Medical Center hours later. Henry County sheriffs deputies took him to Henry County Jail.

Wages said FBI agents took custody of Edwards around 3 p.m.

“He is en route to the Atlanta Detention Center,” Wages added. “He will be on the federal side.”

Morrow Police Detective Sgt. Larry Oglesby said Edwards, entered the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 6389 Jonesboro Road, in Morrow on Dec. 4.

“He passed a note to the teller, which stated, ‘This is a robbery. Give me 100s, 50s and 20s and I do have a gun,’” Oglesby said.

The teller told police, although she never saw the gun, she gave Edwards approximately $3,700, Oglesby said. Edwards left the bank with the cash but was unaware he also left the bank with a GPS tracking device.

Morrow police tracked Edwards to Atlanta and Atlanta police officers later arrested him. While still handcuffed Edwards was able to escape from Atlanta Police.

Edwards was also wanted for allegedly robbing a Suntrust Bank on Eagles Landing Parkway, in Henry County on Nov. 13.
