JONESBORO — Clayton County children will be out of school for Christmas and New Years but the county’s library system has a plethora of activities scheduled to keep the kids busy.

The library system will be closed Monday and Tuesday and on New Year’s Day. All branches will also closed at 6 p.m. on Dec. 31, according to the library system’s website.

Activities set to take place at Clayton County libraries through the end of the year include:

Saturday

• The Chess Club, which meets at 10 a.m. at the Riverdale Library Branch, located at 420 Valley Hill Road

• Cuentos y Libros, which meets at 1 p.m. at the Headquarters Library Branch, located at 865 Battle Creek Road, in Jonesboro

• The airing of the movie “Arthur Christmas” at 2 p.m. at the Headquarters Library Branch

• The airing of the movies “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer,” “Frosty the Snowman” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” at 2 p.m. at the Jonesboro Library Branch, located at 124 Smith St.

Dec. 26

• Preschool Story Time at 10:30 a.m. at the Lovejoy Library Branch, located at 1721 McDonough Road

• Kwanzaa Kraft craftmaking activity at 2 p.m. at the Headquarters Library Branch

• Arts Craft: Mandala Color Mania at 3 p.m. at the Riverdale Library Branch

• The airing of the film “Open Season” at 6:30 p.m. at the Forest Park Library Branch, located at 4812 West St.

• Pajama-Rama Storytime at 7 p.m. at the Headquarters Library Branch

Dec. 27

• Preschool Story Time and Craft at 10 a.m. at the Riverdale Library Branch

• Holiday Craft at 11 a.m. at the Lovejoy Library Branch

• Storytime for Families at 11 a.m. at the Forest Park Library Branch

• “Marshmallows, Mittens and Mini Memorable Stories” Puppet Show at 2 p.m. at the Headquarters Library Branch

• Scrabble Club at 6 p.m. at the Headquarters Library Branch

Dec. 28

• An airing of the movie “Brave” at 11 a.m. at the Lovejoy Library Branch

• Magic Trick Fun at 2 p.m. at the Headquarters Library Branch

Dec. 29
