Marjorie Batchelor Hodges, 88, of Stockbridge, passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, after a tenacious struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Marjorie was a devoted wife and mother and was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joseph Wiley Hodges.

Mrs. Hodges is survived by her children: Joseph (Jay) Wiley Hodges, Jr. and his wife, Carroll, of McDonough, Gregory Stancil Hodges and his wife Margaret, of Winter Park, Fla., and Candace Hodges Dawkins and her husband Carl of McDonough. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Andrew Hodges, of Huntsville, Ala., Marion Hodges of Los Angeles, Katie Hodges and Steven Hodges of Winter Park, Joseph, William and David Hodges, of McDonough. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Pastor Paul Leslie officiating. The family received friends Thursday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations in Mrs. Hodges’ honor may be made to Christian City, 7300 Lester Road, Union City, Ga. 30291.
