JONESBORO One of the Clayton County Board of Commissioners first acts of business after welcoming two new members will be to take a vote on firing County Manager Wade Starr, according to an agenda for the meeting released late Friday.
The agenda includes two resolutions dealing with Starr and his position. One resolution is to "terminate the employment agreement with Wade Starr." The other is for "the abolishment of the position of County Manager."
The commission will vote to create a new chief operating officer position as well. In a separate vote, the BOC is expected to vote to create a chief financial officer position.
In other action, the commissioners will vote on several resolutions to outline who is authorized to sign checks on the county's behalf, call for a forensic audit and rename the Wole Ralph Recreation Center the Lovejoy Recreation Center.
