There are two primary ways that Michael Hollyday uses his free-time: Playing video games, and solving math problems. But, math is the subject that dominates much of his thoughts every day.
“I’ve always been interested in numbers,” he said. “I like to play with numbers. I’m actually able to see math everywhere. I can see how it relates to everything.”
Hollyday, 17, is Morrow High School’s STAR student. He has a 3.8 grade-point average, and is involved in the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Anime Club, and Math Team at his school. He has applied for admission to Georgia State University and the Georgia Institute of Technology. He plans to study math and computers in college.
Hollyday chose Morrow High School science teacher, Harold Jones, as his STAR teacher. He is the son of Daniel and Katherine Hollyday.
