Sky’s the limit for Riverdale’s Wilson

Kalyn Wilson, 18, said she was taken by surprise when she found out she had been selected as the STAR student for Riverdale High School.

“I’m happy to make my school proud,” said the elated teenager.

Wilson said she has a 4.282 grade-point average, and is currently enrolled in five Advance Placement (AP) courses.

Last month, she was crowned Miss Elite of Clayton County. She is also the captain of the cheerleading team at her school, and is a member of the Student Government Association (SGA). Her STAR teacher is Delores Williams, now a fourth-grade teacher at Church Street Elementary School.

Wilson said she has applied to several colleges, but her top two choices are the University of Georgia, in Athens, and Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tenn.
