Mrs. Fannie Mae Crain

Mrs. Fannie Mae Crain, of Jonesboro, passed away on Feb. 24, 2012, at the age of 93. "Nannie" was a loving wife, mom, grandmother and a friend to many. Her door was always open to those in need, whether for her amazing southern cooking, for shelter, encouragement or as a trusted confidant.

She was a long-time member and supporter of Morrow Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh D. Crain, and a daughter, Beverly Crain Askew.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Rowe (Romeo), of Montgomery, Texas; son, Robert "Bobby" Crain, Sr., (Debbie), of Jonesboro, Ga.; grandchildren, Jack Welborn Askew, Jr., (Kathy), of McDonough, Hugh Craig Askew (fiance, Elizabeth), of Hampton, Will Jeffrey Askew (Amanda), of Mansfield, Texas, Tracy Lynnette Hawthorne (Troy), Rhonda Gail McLin (Glen), both of Montgomery, Texas, Stephanie Juanita Easter, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Robert Hill Crain, Jr., (Holly), of Hendersonville, Tenn., Darrell Edward Crain (Jennifer), of Norman, Okla.; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Nadine Thomas, of Luthersville, Ga.,, Ida Ruth Parks, of Homer, Ga.; and brother, Travis Garner (Joann), of Newnan, Ga.

Funeral services will be held TODAY (Tuesday, Feb. 28), at 1:30 p.m., at Morrow Presbyterian Church. The Rev. John V. Callahan, Jr., will officiate. Emtombment will follow in the Abbey at Westview Cemetery. The family received friends on Monday evening, from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the Morrow Presbyterian Church Food Pantry.
