Joan Miller Sutherland, 75, of Jonesboro, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012. She was born in Atlanta, to the late Norris Poole Miller and Sarah Elizabeth Penn Miller. Mrs. Sutherland was also preceded in death by her son, Andrew Norris Sutherland.
She was accounts receivable manager with Sutherland’s Foodservice, and a member of First Christian Church, Stockbridge. She was a lady full of life, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Sutherland is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gene Sutherland, of Jonesboro; children, Bonnie (Frankie) Wilson, of McDonough, Connie (Kenny) Hopkins, of Jonesboro, Diana (Baker) Earwood, of Flovilla, Ga., and Gene (Delee) Sutherland, Jr., of College Park; sister, Jean Thompson, of Wilson, N.C.; brother, Harry Miller, of East Point, Ga.; grandchildren, Matthew (Jamie), Andrew (Meredith), Chad, Cole, Callie, Corey, Lexi, Jes, and Cade; great-grandchildren, Logan, Dylan and Britton.
Funeral services will be held TODAY (Wednesday, Feb. 29), at 1 p.m., at Forest Park First Baptist Church, with Ken Davidson and Jim Van Winkle officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.
