A gunman wanted by police in connection with a grocery store robbery on Christmas Eve, in Henry County, now is in custody.
Maurice Deon Bailey was picked up by Newton County Sheriff’s deputies, Thursday, on an arrest warrant issued by Henry County, according to Henry Police Lt. Mike Ireland.
Henry authorities wanted Bailey for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery at R & K Grocery store, located at 3200 East Jodeco Road, in McDonough.
Bailey, 27, appeared before Henry County Magistrate Court Judge Robert Godwin on Friday.
Godwin denied a magistrate court bond, and bound the case over to Henry County Superior Court.
Bailey’s alleged accomplices in the robbery: his sister, Tabbitha Ann Bailey, and Charity Danielle Mills, were arrested on Wednesday.
All are from the Covington area, according to police.
Ireland said that, on Dec. 24, at 9:09 p.m., as the two women entered the grocery store, a black male wearing a gray hoodie, jumped in the door between them, entered the store and robbed the clerk at gunpoint. The three alleged assailants escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, Ireland added.
The Baileys, along with Mills, remained in the Henry County Jail without bond at press time, Friday.
