John Wesley Bostwick, Sr.
John Wesley Bostwick, Sr., 80, of McDonough, went to be with his Lord in heaven on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012. John was born June 18, 1931, to Rollin and Janie Bostwick and grew up in Jonesboro. He served in the Army, during which time, he contracted polio and was left a paraplegic. There wasn’t much John couldn’t do, in spite of being bound by a wheelchair.
He was a man of great faith and loved to tell anyone who would listen about Jesus.
Mr. Bostwick is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carol Bostwick, of Conyers; sons, John Wesley Bostwick, Jr., Molina, Ray Wallace, of Marathon, Fla., Bob and Christy Wallace, of Peachtree City; daughters, Brenda Bostwick, Molina, Carol and Rex Bishop, of Conyers, Ga., Lilly and Mark Smith, of Madison, Linda and Billy Gamble, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Buffy, Nicki, Joey, Kenny, Crystal, Jason, Ray, Michelle, Kevin, Jessica, Ryan, Mandi, Justin and Ashley; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Butler and Helen Bostwick, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held TODAY (Tuesday, Jan. 10), at 11a.m., at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Leslie and Ed Butchart officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m., at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Jonesboro. The family received friends Monday, Jan. 9, from 2 p.m., until 4 p.m., and 6 p.m., until 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
