Mr. David L. Hodgson, 80, of Riverdale, passed away Jan. 8, 2012. David was born in Atlanta, the son of the late Velma Isabelle Horne Hodgson and Robert Franklin Hodgson. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Raymond F. Hodgson, and Betty H. Martin.
David worked for Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #85 most of his working career. He enjoyed telling jokes, riding motorcycles, stock car racing, fishing, singing and playing the guitar. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors are his sisters, Marie H. Carter, of Hampton, and Marion Davis (Carl), of McDonough; brother, Bobby Richard Hodgson (Frankie), of Hartwell; sister-in-law, Barbara Hodgson, of Atlanta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for David Hodgson will be Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with the Rev. Martin Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
