Verner Stanford, 91, of McDonough, formerly of Morrow, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012. She was born in Buchanan, Ga., to the late James Edward and Mary Jane Wilson Barger.

Mrs. Stanford was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly S. and Chip Cabaniss, of McDonough, Ga., and Brenda and Charles Padgett, of Morrow; grandchildren, Samantha E. Cabaniss, Angie and Aron McClellan, Brian and Adria Padgett, Karen and Sammy Stephens, Erica and John Dabbs, and Bruce Padgett; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Everlene White, of Douglasville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Stanford.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 12, at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with the Rev. Ronnie Whitlock officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends TODAY (Wednesday, Jan. 11), from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
