Jan. 14

Destiny International Foursquare Church, at 737 Veterans Parkway, Suite 300, Jonesboro (near Golden Corral on Tara Boulevard), will give away winter coats Saturday, Jan. 14, from 9 a.m., to 4 p.m. Coats for women, men and children will be given away while supplies last.

Jan. 15

Dixon Grove Baptist Church, 7690 Fielder Road, Jonesboro, will celebrate the birthday of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on Sunday, Jan. 15, at 3 p.m. Dr. Raphael Warnock will be the guest speaker at the 27th annual Clayton County Ecumenical Service in celebration of the national holiday observance in honor of King. Jan. 21

Dixon Grove Baptist Church, 7690 Fielder Road, Jonesboro, will sponsor a food ministry day, Saturday, Jan. 21, from 11 a.m., to 1 p.m. One box of food per family will be distributed. Those picking up boxes must show photo identification.

Jan. 24

Forest Park Baptist Church VIP Ministries, 634 Main St., Forest Park, will meet Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 10:45 a.m., in the church fellowship hall. Senior adults are welcome to join in fellowship, lunch and a special program of interest to senior citizens. Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of each month with the exception of December. Perfecting The Saints Church International, 1009 Ga. 19/41, five miles north of the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Hampton, is hosting a three-day finance conference Wednesday, Jan. 25, through Friday, Jan. 27, at 6:30 p.m., each day. Robbie Bible Ministries, in the Magnolia Room at Best Value Inns and Suites, 6358 Old Dixie Highway, Jonesboro, is continuing to hold non-denominational services that began on Aug. 28. Higher Calling Ministries, at the southwest corner of Tara Boulevard and Flint River Road, at Flint River Village, presents drive-through prayer Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m., to 8:30 a.m.

Church of the Harvest International, at 7086 Tara Blvd., Jonesboro, offers Celebrate Recovery every Friday at 7 p.m. This group will help people work through any hurt, habits or hang-ups in their lives. Call Mary Lou Kehoe at (404) 513-1219.

Community Bible Church, at 2001 Jodeco Road, in Stockbridge, offers Celebrate Recovery every Thursday, starting at 6 p.m. The support group provides a place where people can work toward conquering anxiety, depression, anger, food addiction, chemical dependency, co-dependency, drug addiction and heartache.
