A marital disagreement inside a bedroom of their home apparently preceded the murder-suicide of a Riverdale couple last week, according to a public information officer for the Clayton County Police Department.
Officer Cemetris Williams, said Edmond Martin, 33, shot his wife, Fitcha Martin, 31, before turning the gun on himself inside their home on Hamlin Trace.
“There was some type of disagreement that came about,” Officer Williams said.
The deceased couples’ three children are now under the custody of family members from Illinois, she added.
According to reports, the incident occurred on the afternoon of Jan. 12.
The couple’s eldest son, 11, came home from school at about 4:20 p.m., and found a large amount of blood inside the home.
The child left the house, immediately, seeking help, and 9-1-1 was called.
The boy did not see the bodies, according to the police.
