Clayton County Commission Vice Chairman Wole Ralph has invited residents from his southern county district to meet him this weekend to chat about local issues, over a few cups of coffee, county officials announced this week.
Ralph is scheduled to host the first of a new series of “Saturday Morning Coffee” sessions on Saturday, at 10 a.m., at the Lovejoy Library Branch, located at 1721 McDonough Road, in Lovejoy.
While Commissioner Sonna Singleton has been holding similar sessions with her own constituents for some time, this is a new event for Ralph.
Tamara Patridge, administrative assistant to Clayton County Manager Wade Starr, said the informal coffee chat is not a campaign event for the commission vice chairman, whose District 3 Commission seat is up for re-election this year.
Patridge is acting as an interim county spokesperson, in addition to her duties as Starr’s assistant.
“This is something that he [Ralph] has just decided to begin, to sort of talk about concerns and commentaries with his constituents ... just to hear what they have to say,” Patridge said.
