FOREST PARK — A member of the Georgia House of Representatives who is running for the Clayton County Commission Chairman’s seat reportedly turned herself into Forest Park police last month after learning there was a warrant for her arrest, according to numerous reports.

A warrant was reportedly issued for the arrest of State Rep. Roberta Abdul-Salaam (D-Riverdale) after she missed a May 2 court date for charges of speeding and driving with a suspended license in Forest Park. Abdul-Salaam said in media reports that she thought the court date was July 2. She reportedly turned herself in to Forest Park Police on June 19 after learning about the warrant from a Riverdale police officer.

The Clayton News Daily could not reach Abdul-Salaam or a Forest Park Police Department spokesperson Monday for comment despite numerous attempts to reach both of them by telephone. A reporter also attempted to reach out to Abdul-Salaam at her legislative e-mail address.

...Should we be surprised ?

.....Roberta is good at being missing, especially during the Georgia General Assembly Sessions; As if her presence and vote would be missed by anyone.

.....Can you believe that Roberta is running for our County Commissioner Chairman ? Ha, Ha........I wonder how many meetings she will attend , if she wins .

......If Clayton County has nothing else offer us, We are forced fed with large doses of humor by our State Legislators from this county.. ....But now we have one that wants to be elevated beyond her former station.

....Please show some mercy on the residents of this county !!!!....Haven't we been tortured enough ?

....Do you believe in Supernatural Nightmares, and complete strangers sharing the same thoughts ?

....Strange that it might be, Some of the citizens in Clayton County is sharing the same Nightmares and Thoughts about our bleak future..

.....The Nightmares always seems to begin with the end of the 2012 county elections,

...From keeping a track record on Roberta's agendas, her involvement, and memberships, with certain special interest groups, her associations with outsiders from our county, and her Legislative Sponsored State Bills.....I would have no other choice to form the opinion that Roberta missed more than a court date..

Our elected officials should be required to "Lead by Example". If they can't follow this basic rule, they shouldn't be allowed to represent anyone, and should be removed from their elected office.

DE; I'm glad that you brought this point up to our attention.

...Riddle me with this :

......If Clayton County was to have a Fool's Parade, who would be out front twirling the baton ?
